Although he often visited Devils Lake to fish when he was younger, it was a little later in life when he discovered some of DL’s best kept secrets- “Devils Lake is not just a lake to fish, it’s a community of great people who host a lot of great events! You will have no trouble finding different activities to fill your time with. There is something for everyone in Devils Lake.” Outside of his dedication to area Fire and community, Nate is known for his award-winning BBQ! Nate and his wife Amanda have 3 boys who keep them quite busy with numerous activities. Amanda teaches at Devils Lake Public Schools.

Lonna Street- Spirit Lake Nation Tribal Chairwoman

Chairwoman Lonna Street was raised her entire life on the Spirit Lake Reservation. Her wishes are to continue to grow our communities together, building off the respect and value system we share as relatives. “Our homelands are beautiful, consisting of the Mni Wakan (sacred waters) and the vastly wooded areas we share adjacently, with surrounding townships both well known for their excellence in fishing & hunting. If you look around and get involved the Lake Region area has much to offer something for everyone!”
Chairwoman Street and her husband, Richard live in St. Michael, ND. Combined with their 6 boys and one daughter they brought together, they all enjoy dancing at powwows, doing crafts, gardening, and serving their community in various areas, especially as ambassadors for the Spirit Lake Nation. Also, they are the proud grandparents to three grandsons and one granddaughter.
